Use of Guard Tunnel, henceforth referred to as "GT", software and the service provided by GT, is subject to the privacy policy set forth below. We may regularly amend these polciies at any time without prior notice by posting new or revised policies and other documents on the GT web site. It is important for you to check this and other terms and conditions related to use of GT and other GT products and services from time to time. PLEASE READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE GT WEB SITE. USE OF GT SERVICES CONSTITUTES THE END USER'S ACCEPTANCE OF ALL SUCH NOTICES AND POLICIES.
General Policies
GT does not collect any identifiable information (see below for collected information), nor does it ask you to enter any information. However, GT does collect certain information when using the proxy service. GT has a logging feature which collects the IP address of the end user, file requested, and time of access. These logs are used for statistical purposes only. Logs are generally deleted after 60 days, however they may be kept for at least 90 days. GT also has a cache feature that saves certain file types (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .js, .css, .swf, etc.) to the server for later access. These files will only be accessed if they are accessed on the proxy via the same method as the original access. This feature is used to save resources and for faster loading. The cache is occasionally deleted.
GT allows access to any website on the internet, barring technical issues. GT cannot be held responsible for any content on websites browsed via the GT proxy, and any information entered or collected by other websites is not the responsibility of GT or it's owners or operators. It is the user's responsibility to use common sense and be responsible when entering personal information into accessed websites. GT and it's owners or operators are not responsible for any damages or consequences that may occur from collection of personal information by websites accessed through GT and the service.
Computer Tracking and Analytics
GT uses Google Analytics to track visitors, impressions, and the such on our website. This data is used for statistical reasons only, and is disclosed to advertisers. There is no personal information in this data, only tracking such as browser type, length of visit, referring URL, file requests, etc. GT's tracking does recognize home IP addresses, browser types, operating system types, and monitor types, but it does not collect email addresses, names, or other information that we could use to identify individual users.Third Party Advertising
GT uses to serve third party advertisement networks to you while viewing our web pages. These networks tracks impressions, clicks, and other statistical information. These scripts do not collect any identifiable information. However, Google AdSense uses cookies to server you advertisements based on your previous Internet activity.
* Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on GT.
* Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our visitors based on their visit to our website and other sites on the Internet.
* Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
Release of Information to Government Officials
In the event that GT systems pick up suspected illegal activity, GT reserves the right to submit the end user's details to proper law enforcement agencies and government officials. In the event that GT is required to release information by proper authorities, GT reserves the right to do so.
